Home support team member apprenticeship

Want to build a career helping one of our care homes run smoothly? You could start out in our home support team as an apprentice. We’ve invested heavily in our approved apprenticeship programme – to support you and help you build a rewarding career. There’s a wide range of rewarding roles available. After that, you could train to become a carer or go into home management.

Your career path

Your career path in detail

Trainee

  • Short programme of development

  • Includes 2–4 weeks of work placement

  • Ideal if you’re not yet ready to start an apprenticeship

  • Gives you a taste of working as a carer

We also offer the opportunity of work experience, which is suitable for school pupils. This gives a taste of working life in a social care environment.

Level 2 Apprentice

  • Apply and start in your chosen role

  • Roles available include: activities, chefs and kitchen assistants, receptionists and administrators, maintenance and facilities, laundry and domestic

  • No experience needed for this level

  • Includes a full induction to prepare you

  • Length: 12–18 months

Level 3 Advanced Apprentice

  • Apply once you complete Level 2

  • Develop your skills and progress in your chosen role

  • Length: 18 months

What's next?

  • Take our management vocational qualification to progress into care home management

  • Or switch career paths to train for a new role – for example, you could train as a carer

  • Or continue in your chosen home support team role
