Is Care UK right for me?

How is it different working as a nurse at Care UK?

Many nurses joins us from the hospital environment because the working life ofa nurse can be very stressful. There’s usually lots of pressure on time and resources. At Care UK, we give our nurses the time they need to get to know residents – and understand what their individual needs are. This will help you deliver truly personalised care that we believe is at the heart of a successful care home.

What sort of training will I receive?

As a nurse, you’ll receive ongoing training through our own Learning Academy. This will help you further develop your clinical skills with additional specialist training, for example, in areas such as dementia care. You’ll also have the opportunity to develop your management and leadership skills. We give you the freedom to shape your training around your career goals.

Who will I work with?

You’ll join a close-knit care team made up of carers, other nurses and support staff such as chefs. You’ll also work closely with outside professionals such as GPs and physiotherapists. So for example, you might talk to the chef about addressing a resident’s nutritional needs. Or you might liaise with the local GP to discuss medication. It’s a really varied, rewarding role where nurses take the lead.

Where will my nursing career go?

It’s really up to you how far and where you go. With Care UK, there’s a lot of flexibility. And if you show commitment, we’ll help you reach your potential. Take a look at possible career paths for nurses.
