Trusted to care

A closely-knit team of managers, carers, nurses and support colleagues – and each of us is dedicated to your loved one’s care, health and wellbeing.

My role is all about putting the people we care for at Bickerton House at the heart of everything we do.

I joined Care UK because it’s a well-respected care provider with good career opportunities, and Bickerton House offered an exciting opportunity to manage a premium service. I love interacting with residents, hearing their stories and getting to know them and their families.

In this role you need patience and resilience, as well as the ability to listen and communicate well with others. I’m very proud to have won awards with my team, and to have achieved my Chartered Manager Institute Level 5 Leadership and Management qualification during the pandemic.

I’ve also achieved my Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education Level 5 Operations and Departmental Manager qualification and QCF5 Health and Social Care Leadership and Management qualification, and I’m a Dementia Friends Champion for the Alzheimer’s Society.

Seeing residents happy and smiling and seeing my team develop, progress and become the best they can be make me proud of what I do.

Outside of work, I used to play rugby and still go to lots of games, and I paddleboard, kayak, shoot competitively and ride motorcycles. I also have a dog called Banner who will be visiting the home periodically.
