Join our team and you'll have the chance to get creative in the kitchen while cooking up nutritious, well-balanced meals that have a direct impact on residents’ health and wellbeing.

Many catering colleagues join us from restaurants or hotels where they’re used to working long hours late into the night. In a care home, you’ll work more sociable hours, and you’ll also have the opportunity to build relationships by getting to know residents and their tastes and preferences. This is a role where you can really make a difference.

Trusted to care

A closely-knit team of managers, carers, nurses and support colleagues – and each of us is dedicated to your loved one’s care, health and wellbeing.

I’m an experienced manager, having joined Blossomfield Grange from a Commissioning Manager position at another care provider. I’m also trained as a Registered General Nurse and have achieved a diploma in neuroscience and a Leadership and Management in Care Services qualification. I decided to join Care UK because it’s a provider with a great reputation.

As a General Manager, you need to be patient, calm and compassionate. It’s important to have a warm approach and also a good sense of humour! The most important part of my role is ensuring residents are living safe and happy lives, and I find that to be the most fulfilling part of what I do. Seeing happy residents, happy colleagues and a happy home makes me proud.

I’ve had several high points along my career. I was really proud to be awarded an MBE for services to veterans during the pandemic, and, in 2020, I took a home to 'Outstanding' rating in all five domains.

When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my dog Violet, holidaying in the Lake District and watching Formula One.
