I first became a Home Manager back in 1987, and I’ve worked in the public and private sector in older people’s services in organisations large and small. I’m very impressed by Care UK’s approach and values, particularly the personalised ethos it has in relation to older people’s care and to the development of its colleagues.
I enjoy supporting the team at mealtimes. It’s my chance to fetch and carry for colleagues, or to simply sit and support a resident to enjoy their meal. People are relaxed and keen to chat, so there’s a nice atmosphere. I feel privileged to have the chance to share a story or a smile and to enhance a person’s day.
Away from work, I love cooking a delicious meal from scratch. I used to live in Italy where food is such a big part of everyday life. There’s nothing better than getting friends and family together to laugh, have fun and enjoy great food.
