  • About Care UK

We run over 120 homes and day clubs across the UK. We provide residential, nursing, dementia and end-of-life care for older people. As one of the UK’s leading care home providers, our goal is to help every employee fulfil his or her potential – with first-class training and support.

    About the role

As part of a friendly team led by the Head Housekeeper, you’ll be responsible for carrying out all cleaning duties. You’ll make sure daily and deep cleaning tasks are carried out to a high standard, complying with infection control guidelines. It’s important that you respect the privacy and individual needs of our residents. You’ll also need to be comfortable doing some paperwork and re-stocking cleaning supplies as required. It’s a rewarding role and a supportive workplace where we all pull together. This role offers 35 hours a week. We are looking for flexible people who could commit to work every other weekend.

    About you

You may or may not have worked in a care home before but it is important to us that you are a caring, positive person with a strong attention to detail whilst taking pride in ensuring a clean and welcoming environment for our residents as well as families and visitors. You also know about health and safety regulations. You’re a good team player – polite, presentable and mindful of older people’s privacy. When you join Care UK, you’ll get excellent support, quality training and fast-track career opportunities from one of the UK’s leading care home providers.

As a Domestic Assistant at Care UK, you can look forward to:

    • Contracted hours
    • Free DBS
    • Free Uniform
    • Free Parking
    • Bank holiday enhancements
    • Quality training to develop your skills
    • Career progression
    • Stakeholder pension
    • Thousands of online and in-store discounts
  • Where you'll work
  • At Elmstead House, you can expect a warm welcome from our friendly and professional team.

Elmstead House is a welcoming care home in Hendon, Greater London. We work in partnership with Barnet CCG to provide personalised nursing and residential care for older people living with Alzheimer's, other forms of dementia or mental health needs.

Our team has specialist expertise in caring for individuals with the most complex care needs and we also offer sensitive and supportive end of life care.

Living at Elmstead House is about being and feeling part of a community. When a new resident arrives at the home, we put time and effort into helping them to settle and feel comfortable. Many members of our team have worked here for more than 10 years, so residents can be sure of a familiar face. Residents are able to move about the home as they wish and have the space to choose what they'd like to do.

A lot of the care we provide is on a one-to-one basis. And we’re always there for residents’ families too, by offering comforting support to anyone that needs it.

Care UK is committed to ensuring that it employs people with the right mix of talent, skills and potential and will assess every applicant fairly regardless of race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, responsibilities for dependents, age, physical/mental disability or offending background. Having a criminal record will not necessarily prevent you from working with us, it will depend on the nature of the role and background of any offence.
