Join our team and you'll have the chance to get creative in the kitchen while cooking up nutritious, well-balanced meals that have a direct impact on residents’ health and wellbeing.
Many catering colleagues join us from restaurants or hotels where they’re used to working long hours late into the night. In a care home, you’ll work more sociable hours, and you’ll also have the opportunity to build relationships by getting to know residents and their tastes and preferences. This is a role where you can really make a difference.

I have worked in health and social care for just over 40 years in a variety of operational management and specialist support roles across the public, private and voluntary sectors. Over my career I have achieved mutiple Diplomas.
It was important for me to work for a care provider where my values are aligned, so working at Care UK feels right. At Care UK, quality really does matter, and the vision and values are lived out in practice, putting the people we support at the centre of everything we do.
It’s essential to have a passion for working with people in this role, and leadership qualities and management skills are needed to drive the continuous improvement that delivers outstanding services.
It is a great privilege to be trusted to care for another person. Ensuring that the actions of everyone in the team make a positive difference is what drives me. I also love coaching and get a real buzz from supporting team members to grow in confidence and develop their potential.
I love starting and finishing my day with a walk around the home, talking with residents, relatives and team members. This is useful for finding out what’s working and what isn’t so that timely action can be taken to address any concerns.
Outside of work, I’m incredibly lucky to have three beautiful and energetic granddaughters who keep me busy doing all manner of indoor and outdoor pursuits. I also enjoy going to the theatre and love dancing.
